Spring Day

During the last days the weather here in Northern Germany was fantastic with temperatures around 15 C° (59° F) and you can absolutely feel … Spring is coming.
So I took the change to have a short walk through the city during my lunch break and came by this little shop selling postcards. I sneaked in (as a promised myself before not to spend any money) and found these fantastic postcards with flowerfairies. As I think they will fit perfectly into my room I now have to find some matching frames. (Ohh, guess that means spending more money.)

On Saturday I will take the chance to do some gardening. With the weather getting better I really can not wait to get started again. As mentioned in my post of March ? I bought these flower bulbs which desperately need to be planted. But first of all I have to do some weeding. In my front yard I successfully started on Saturday two weeks ago while my sweetie was mowing our lawn. Now it’s the turn of the backyard where a lot has to be done. I set off my cottage-style flower bed with no more than roses and herbs last autumn and now it is time to add some more plants. I adore especially Carols garden pictures over at Boxwood Cottage (http://carolsgarden.blogspot.com) as in her garden everything looks so harmonious. In my garden you can still a lot of soil, which is absolutely normal a garden existing now for only 2 years, I know … but patience is not my strong point.

Did you already start with your Easter decoration? I also will do this on Saturday and I’m planning to do some baking as well. Cookie Cutters with shapes like little bunnies, sheep and tulips have been arrange on the kitchen shelter. (Hopefully the day has more than the usual 24 hours to get all this done).

I wish everyone a nice evening and .. tgif - tomorrow.

Spring decoration

Time for changes ! Two weeks ago it was time for a new decoration (... but I didn't find the time to post this pics earlier.) So I'll show you some corners of my living room and my crafts-room - I hope you'll like it.

Lately I found so many neat thing that I could not resist buying. The heart in the above picture and the white one on the left I found in a garden centre.

The grey one has been a gift of my sweety for Valentines Day - together with a red rose. It fits perfectly to the grey paint of my living room.

And here you see MY place ... This has been a really messy, untidy room at the beginning of this year but I managed to organize it.

Now I have a place were I can do some craft.

To be honest, up to now I didn't find the time and the passion to really sit down and start. Not that there aren't enough things I would like to get done.
Maybe I will show you some of my unfinished and planned projects in one of my next posts.

But it is good to know that I could get started right away.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures ... I will show some more corners of my house soon.

Sunset

Just wanted to share this lovely picture with you before I go to work.

I wish everyone out there a wonderful day, with a lot of pleasure. Tonight I have my belly-dancing class and it's sooo much fun.

Enjoy your day - make the best out of it.

Flower Show

Today my sweetie and I went to an Indoor Flower Show. As the weather outside is grey, raining, today pretty cold again and absolutely no spring in sight this was a great escape.

Different flowerbeds each with a theme and put toghether by one of the nearby seedling nursery could be seen. For me the best is this one called "Beer garden. Different beer crate with empty bottles have been put up and some of the bottles have been filled with flowers.

This one is called "Blue Dream" . Wonderful lilac flowers, blue blossoms of hydrangea and white baby's breath are shown.

Honestly, I'm sick of this grey look outside and can't await to see Spring's coming. But the most of the flowers in my garden are still sleeping and I miss the great varity of colors.

Therefore I could resist to buy some new flowers for my garden at this show. Buttercups in different colours, a flower called Polianthus (lat. tuberosa 'The pearl'). Also I have never seen it before the picture just looks great. Hopefully it will bloom as it will really goes very well with my roses. And then some Mini-amaryllis (lat. Habranthus robustus) in pink. I already made up a place where I will put them and hopefully in July I can post a picture.

The "garden" on the right is called "Happy Metal".
Please don't ask my why.

The metal ball on the left with the white callas looks just great but my sweetie didn't agree to that. The rusty metal is not something he likes, especially not in our garden.

We spend a wonderful day inside, hiding from the aweful weather and had a really good time.

I wish everyone a nice Sunday. Hope to see you soon.

Since two weeks we have stormy weather and for tonight they have forecasted the heaviest storm since years. Hopefully it will not hit us too hard.

But every cloud has a silver lining and due to this bad weather I managed to tidy up the first room of our house. Yeah what a good feeling. (OK, honestly ... I have 7 more rooms to go. A lot work. But step by step I will manage the chaos.)

And yesterday, during a short sunny period I took the chance for a short walk. It was a good feeling to breathe some fresh air, feel the wind in my hair and let my mind wander. I passed by a tiny little shop and saw a neat teapot with a matching teacup at the showcase. It has a pattern of small roses and I was not able to overcome the temptation to buy it.

Now I will take a steaming cup of tea, get out some of my pictures and will do some scrapbooking. Have a nice hopefully not stormy evening.

Happy New Year 2007!!

Dear Friends,

I wish all of you a happy and prosperous New Year! What will this year hold in store for us? 365 days full of surprises and I´m looking forward to every single day.

What about your New Year´s resolution?? It´s the first time that I have no resolution at all. 2006 was such a turbulent year for us with luckily a very good ending that I am at the moment absolutely happy.

For the month to come I will try to calm down a bit, organize myself and my home and afterwards ... wait and see.
